most of the time, I am not paying attention to the extent which consumerism and language have taken over my experiences; our experiences, but this one is evidence that I have thought about it before, even been overwhelmed by it.
I'm too involved to leave it, and it isn't intrinsically evil, it;s just so prevalent. Organized symbolism has attached itself so strongly to myself and everyone I know and my world and those who have fought too hard against it have suffered, while those who didn't notice it was happening are now transformed entirely. I watched it happen, and I wonder if every generation does.
There was a time when freedom did not necessitate u.s. currency, within my life experience. the was a time when i would never consider sacrificing time for service. It;s wierd.
